STEP 2:  Supporting Documents

 

All documents should be mailed directly to the IDP office:

Most applicants find it helpful to collect all of these documents and mail them in a single package.  

A.  Personal Statement.  Please submit a personal statement (1-2 pages) describing your past research experience, career goals, and motivation to enter
graduate school.  Submitting a curriculum vitae (CV) or resume in addition to the personal statement is required.

B.  Letters of Recommendation.  Please submit at least three (3) letters of recommendation for your application to be complete.  We require that the standard UF Letter of Recommendation form be attached to formal letters of recommendation.  Letters may be mailed directly by the referee, in which case you should provide them with a stamped, addressed envelope.  Letters mailed by the applicant must be in envelopes sealed by the referee.

C.  Fellowship/Assistantship Application form.  Please submit one copy of this form.

D.  Certification of Financial Responsibility form.  Please submit this form directly to the IDP office.  This form is not an application for admission, but it is required supplementary information.  Form I-20 or DS-2019, which is required for your visa, cannot be issued until you have been admitted to the University of Florida and this form has been provided to the UF International Center.  We will forward it to the UF International Center for you immediately upon your acceptance.

E.  Photocopies of transcripts and test score reports.  Submission of these materials will expedite review of your application.  Official documents must still be submitted as described in STEP 4 before admission decisions will be made.  Please submit a photocopies of all university transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) and photocopies of your GRE and TOEFL exam score reports, which will be used by the IDP Admissions Committee to review your application.  We will also accept self-reported exam scores for initial review of your application.  

F.  Application Fee.  Submit online by credit card or send a check or money order payable to "University of Florida" in the amount of $30.00.  There is no provision for waiving or deferring the $30 application fee. Applications submitted without the fee will not be processed.  Please be aware that if paying by credit card, a $1.75 service fee will be added automatically to the $30 fee, so the total application fee is $31.75
