"This is one of the premier courses in the United States today. It is placed on an old Ball Golf course and run by the Jacksonville Police Athletic League and Dan Berman - a premier player in disc golf. You can usually catch him out at the course serving hot dogs and burgers for lunch and selling discs. And he seems to always have time to play a round with the weary traveler. The holes are very lush and some are very long, but all are challenging. Surprisingly for a Florida course this one actually has elevation changes (something we are not used to in Gainesville.) If you shoot par on this course, then you are playing very well. Hole #17, the Fore Palms signature hole is my favorite. It is a long downhill shot that can be reached in one if you can throw like Dan. I'm always happy with a par! Thanks to Dan for getting disc golf set up in Jacksonville."

This is the most picturesque course I've seen to-date, mostly because it used to be a ball-golf course. The biggest plus I can think of on this course is its three tee pads per hole. What's really strange is that sometimes the intermediate tees are tougher than some pro tees! The other nice thing about this course is that the park is run by the PAL (Pol ice Athletic League) so one tends to feel very safe at this park!

I really like the course, I played it when it was a ball course. My only problem with it was no reflective tape on the baskets and since I'm pushing 40 my eyes aren't what they used to be, so I need a little help finding them in the trees. Its also a great place to bring kids, with a playground right there and the little ponds are full of brim and an occasional bass to really make your day.

A couple of avid disc golfers from Dallas will be visiting the area the weekend of 7/31. Would like to hook up with local golfer(s) to check out Jax course(s).

I am interested in playing the Four Palms course during my upcoming visit to Jacksonville. I will be arriving Wednesday, 10/21/98, around 5pm and would like to attempt to play then. How long is it from the airport to Four Palms course? Will there be enough daylight? I am also available Friday morning (plane leaves at 11am)if someone wants to play an early morning round -- after 6pm (512) 225-2398
