Home Page for Brian Cain
Professor Brian D. Cain earned his Ph.D. in 1983 at the University
of Illinois for his work with Dr. Samuel Kaplan on the synthesis and transfer
of phospholipids between membrane systems in R. sphaeroides. He was a Postdoctoral
Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Simoni at Stanford University where
he investigated the proton translocation through ATP synthase through the
use of site-directed mutagenesis. He joined the Department in 1988.
