The University of Florida Health Care System-the most comprehensive academic health center in the Southeast-is dedicated to high-quality programs of education, research, patient care and public service. The center is known nationally for programs related to the brain and spine, cardiovascular disease, nephrology, gastroenterology and liver disease, diabetes, drug design, genetics, and organ transplantation. Strong multidisciplinary programs exist in fields of cancer, cellular and molecular biology, gene therapy, children's health and women's health.
The Purpose of the center is to facilitate and enhance research capabilities in all phases of clinical trials research by providing specialized clinical research support. An academically integrated network encompassing all Health Science Center resources on the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses enables the center to coordinate and provide a broad array of research expertise.
