IDP Faculty Members Named UF Research Foundation Professors for
2006-2009


Thirty-three University of Florida faculty members, including four IDP faculty members, were recently named as UF Research Foundation Professors for 2006-2009 to honor them for their outstanding research.  The research professors were selected by the foundation based on recommendations from their colleges.  They demonstrated their research productivity through such measures as external funding, publications in books and scholarly journals, and development of intellectual property.    

Daniel J. Driscoll, Ph.D. M.D.

Professor of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology and Pediatrics

IDP Advanced Copncentration:  Genetics

Dr. Driscoll's research focuses on neurobehavioral syndromes, genomic imprinting and obesity.

Westley H. Reeves, M.D.

Professor of Medicine, Chief, Division of Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology

IDP Advanced Concentration(s):  Immunology & Microbiology

Dr. Reeves' research focuses on the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus in humans and animal models, and on the dioscovery of novel disease markers.

Elizabeth A. Shenkman, Ph.D. 

Professor of Epidemiology & Health Policy Research

Dr. Shenkman's research focuses on quality and outcomes of care for children and adolescents in the context of the health care delivery system, their families, and their communities.

Richard D. Johnson, Ph.D. 

Professor of Physiological Sciences

IDP Advanced Concentration:  Neuroscience

Dr. Johnson's research focuses on neuronal control (sensory, spinal, brainstem, and motor) of the reproductive and pelvic organs; normal mechanisms, neuroplasticity and dysfunction following chronic nerve and spinal cord injury; efficacy of regeneration and transplantation strategies.
