The Graduate Education Advisory Council consists of the College of Medicine basic science department chairpersons, and is chaired by the Associate Dean for Graduate Education. This council is involved in overall policy decisions for the IDP, including policies that relate to education quality such as changes in the curriculum and enrollment of faculty from other Colleges in the IDP. The council meets on a monthly basis.
The Advisory Board is a faculty committee that is chaired by the Associate Dean for Graduate Education. This Board is made up of the Directors of the Advanced Programs, Directors of the first year (core) courses, Chair of the Graduate Studies Committee, Director of Graduate Admissions, two ad-hoc faculty members, two senior graduate students and the Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs. The panel meets on a monthly basis, and discusses issues that directly influence the quality of education, such as the curriculum, development of joint degree programs with other colleges, formation of student- and faculty-run seminar series and coordination of student research presentations.
