IDP Advanced Courses

The six Advanced Concentrations each run a series of advanced courses,
or modules. Most modules last about 5 weeks, consist of about 15
contact hours of lectures and/or paper discussions, and
count as one credit. Students are expected to satisfactorily complete at
least 6 credits beyond their first year of graduate study to fulfill the advanced course requirements.
While students will probably take most
of these courses in their second year, in part to prepare them for their
qualifying exam, they can be taken at any time. To
ensure that students can take any combination of the courses, many (but not all)
of the modules
for each Advanced Concentration are scheduled at different times during
the week as outlined in the table below.
