Funding for up to three MD/PhD students per year currently includes tuition remission for the four medical school years. During the graduate portion of the training, MD/PhD students are appointed as Graduate Research Assistants and receive tuition remission and a stipend ($23,000/year in 2007-08), which may be funded by the mentor's research grant, an NIH training grant, or other institutional funds. MD/PhD students are eligible for free graduate student health insurance during their PhD training. | |
