Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC)
and the
North Florida Area Health Education
Center (AHEC)
through a grant awarded
by the
Department
of Health and Human Services
Bureau
of Health Professions
Housed in the Division
of Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, College of Medicine,
the University of Florida Geriatric Education Center (UF-GEC) was established
in 1987 to provide educational services for faculty and practitioners
in the State of Florida. The goal of the UF-GEC is to provide better
care for older adults through improving geriatric and gerontological
training for professionals in both academic and clinical settings.
One of a network of Geriatric Education Centers in the country, the
UF-GEC receives major support through the Health Resources and Services
Administration, Bureau of Health Professions.
