Admission to the College of Medicine is highly
competitive. While preference is given to Florida residents, only extremely
competitive non-residents are accepted. Student's residency is designated as out-of-state by the University of Florida Registrar maybe eligible for a tuition waiver granted by the College of Medicine. The waiver can reduce tuition to equal that of Florida residents. The college seeks students who demonstrate
personal and intellectual characteristics expected of physicians including
compassion, communicativeness, character, captaincy and competence. |
There are three routes of admission to the University of Florida College of
Medicine:

are reviewed by the Medical Selection Committee, and competitive applicants
are invited to interview. Each year, the College of Medicine accepts approximately
119 students through Regular Admissions. The average core science GPA is 3.8,
average MCAT 31.5.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree conferred prior to matriculation from a United States accredited institution.
