Dr. Gulig then reported on his meeting at Texas A&M University Health Science Center at College Station, Texas, where he took a workshop on "Leadersip Course in Disaster Response." The course was taught by Air Force team (DIMO) who gave an "all hazards" training. They had extensive pubic health background and plan two more blocks in later years. The problem with this course was that it was not tailored to 2nd year medical students; there was an information overload with too manh objectives, i.e., team building, support of threat. There was too much detail given at this course. The good points were that the all hazards served a dual use; triage principles; mental health--victims and responders; a need for pre-planning, and plenty of resources: disaster life support courses, field guide for disaster management, and Society for Critical Care Medicine.
