No new announcements from students. Dr. Watson announced that the 4th floor furniture in the student lounge is nice; they have a tv and refrigerator. It was also announced that Jeff Hall was elected to AOA. Dr. Watson indicated that Sue Legg is helping the COM to renovate classrooms and purchase computers, trying to make an online testing area. Dr. Watson indicated that he is working with Mike Conlon. The plan is to have testing center chairs.
Dr. Romrell spoke about putting projectors in the MSB auditorium, moving the screen forward with video projector. He said there are going to be major renovations to C1-4 through C1-9. Also, major renovations to H6-11 making it a teleconferencing and multimedia classroom. The College of Medicine has purchased 70 imacs for testing. Testing will be available to other health center colleges.
Dr. Watson announced too, that the Harrell memorial service was Saturday and very nice. The College is starting a history of the COM HSC. A small group is forming, like Faith Meakin, Mark Barrell, etc. Dr. Rooks announced that Dr. Watson is now chair-elect of AAMC national Group on Educational Affairs.
Dr. Rooks passed out the sign up sheet for the retreat. He also passed out working group sign up sheets. He requested that everyone sign up for at least one group to be used at the retreat. The committee was asked to split into three groups, to review the basic idea of the curriculum, and to specify one person as spokesperson for the group. The groups are listed as follows:
Dr. Rooks asked for an overview from each discussion group of how they look at our curriculum plan. If it's not right, say how you would fix it.
Group 1:
1) What is out end product?: a well rounded physician who fulfills the standard set forth and is prepared for the residency of their choice.
2) What do learn? (How do you know what students should learn?)
3) Clinical presentation model will define what students need to learn.
4) Competencies

Whether or not there are regimented teaching methods ( none); faculty development should be correlated with teaching methods.
Dr. Harris added that the Clinical Presentation model adds some uniformity. He indicated that a lot of time is spent defining competencies and the clinical presentation model and the evaluation system as well as structure of 1st and 2nd year.
