- Discussion of narrative comments & numeric scores relative to course syllabus, and written report.
Committee members suggested participating in a "group" evaluation of a course written report/syllabus to ensure that there is consistency in the evaluation process.
Discussion:
- Committee continued review/discussion of the Evaluating Student Performance Policy. The committee discussed the implementation of the Harris Report policies. Dr. Ritz suggested that explaining to students in the first year, that the process potentially may improve their residency placement/outcome might be helpful. Dr. Stevens expressed concern about the time/energy devoted to the discriminatory process. Dr. Rarey asked the committee to consider how to reach an overall consensus relative to the policy.
- Synopsis - the committee understands the policy and concurs. However, there is concern about how to apply the day-to-day applications. Dr. Rarey asked if a committee member would volunteer to discuss the Evaluation Subcommittees review of the Evaluating Student Performance Policy at the next Curriculum Committee Meeting scheduled for June 28, 2005. Dr. Ritz accepted the assignment. Dr. Rarey suggested that the committee members attend the next CC meeting.
Meeting adjourned 1:10 p.m.
