LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The Society of Teaching Scholars Lifetime Achievement Award was created in 2003 to recognize faculty members who have distinguished themselves throughout an extended career by excellence in scientific research and discovery, medical education, and clinical care. Recipients include:

- Ann Harwood-Nuss, M.D., Assistant Dean for Educational Affairs - 2006
- Joachim S. Gravenstein, M.D., Department of Anesthesiology – 2005
- Sigurd J. Normann, M.D., Ph.D., Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine – 2004
- Parker A. Small, Jr., M.D., Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine – 2003
HIPPOCRATIC SCHOLAR AWARD
The Society of Teaching Scholar Hippocratic Scholars Award was created in 2005 to recognize faculty members who have received the Hippocratic Award on three or more occasions. These individuals have distinguished themselves by being outstanding teachers, advisors, and role models for medical students. Recipients include:
- Patrick Duff, M.D., Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology - 2007
- Hugh M. Hill, M.D. (deceased), Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology – 2005
- Eugene R. Ryerson, M.D., Division of Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Medicine – 2005
SUSTAINED EXCELLENCE IN MEDICAL EDUCATION AWARD
The Society of Teaching Scholars Sustained Excellence in Medical Education Award was created in 2005 to recognize faculty members who have received the College of Medicine Teacher of the Year Award and/or the Senior Class Teacher of the Year Award on multiple occasions. Recipients of this award have distinguished themselves by consistently providing outstanding instruction to medical students. Recipients of this award include:
