Research Progress Reports

We are no longer collecting blood samples from vitiligo patients and family members, and have no active protocols for patient participation.   For past research subjects, please keep in mind that all blood samples we collected were for basic research on the genetic susceptibility to vitiligo. Our research results can not be used as a diagnostic test, and based on our current understanding of vitiligo, the research results are not useful in deciding a course of action to treat vitiligo. Hopefully our results will help us to understand the causes of vitiligo, and contribute to the development of better treatments.

We were fortunate to have funding from the National Vitiligo Foundation and American Vitiligo Research Foundation for several years.  We are grateful to the many donors who contributed to the foundations to help support vitiligo research and public education.  Please see the links below for our annual progress reports to the foundations.
