Affiliated HealthCare Networks and Hospitals
UF College of Medicine is affiliated with the UF&Shands University of Florida Health System, including Shands at UF, Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville; two Shands specialty hospitals in Gainesville,offering rehabilitation and behavioral health services; four community-based Shands hospitals in North Central Florida; and Shands Jacksonville, which is located 75 miles to the northeast of Gainesville. Under the guidance of faculty, these sites also serve as the primary training locations for UF medical students and residents. UF College of Medicine is also affiliated with the Faculty Group Practice/UF Physicians. The UF faculty physicians provide services in more than 40 satellite practices managed by Faculty Group Practice/UF Physicians throughout north Florida.
The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, which includes the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, also is affiliated with the college, providing sites for medical science research, education and patient care.
