Time Limits for Non-Renewal of Appointment for
Non-Tenured Faculty
For all faculty, including faculty on "soft" money who have five
(5)
or more years of continuous University service as of June 30, 1993 the
following time limits apply:
- In the initial contract year, three months notice is required.
- In the second year, six months notice is required.
- In the third and succeeding years, 12 months notice is required.
Faculty on "soft" money such as contracts,grants or sponsored research
funds, hired after June 30, 1993 shall receive ninety (90)
days'
notice
of non-renewal.
Exceptions The time limits do not apply to faculty holding
non-tenure accruing or non-permanent status or visiting titles who have
been informed in their letter of appointment or reappointment that "no
further notice of cessation of employment is required."
