COM Guidelines for Re-posting Faculty Vacancies

Any changes in rank/title, application recruiting deadline, etc., must be reposted in the Position Vacancy System for at least one week. All of these changes (with the exception of salary range) must be reflected in outside advertisements as well. All change requests must be on the Change Request Form. The original must be forwarded to the Administative Affairs Office , Room G1-016, 1st floor HSC.

The following changes/updates must also be made by submitting a Change Request Form:

1. To cancel a position;

2. To post a specified application recruiting deadline for a position previously listed with a rolling deadline; and,

3. To update the "anticipated starting date" for a position not filled within a one month period after the anticipated starting date (#8 on form).

Positions should be reviewed by the department to insure that they are posted in the Position Vacancy System.
Please keep in mind the length of time it takes to place outside ads - usually 2 months or longer. It is very important to plan ahead. All outside ads must include the following elements:
  1. Academic Rank/Title
  2. Application/Recruiting Deadline
  3. Degree and Experience Requirements
  4. Name and address of Search Committee Chairperson or instructions re: on-line application
  5. Anticipated start date.
  6. "EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER"
  7. Minimum salary or "Negotiable".
**Please note that absolutely no advertisements should be placed prior to Dean's Office approval.
