HOW TO FIND US
Gainesville, Florida, is located off of Interstate-75, approximately 2 hours north of Orlando, Florida, and 1.5 hours southwest of Jacksonville, Florida. The Gainesville Regional Airport has flights to Atlanta and Charlotte as well as several Florida cities every day.
The Radiation Oncology Department of the University of Florida is located in the Shands Cancer Center (Shands Medical Plaza) at 2000 SW Archer Rd, in Gainesville. (See map.)
From Interstate 75: To find the Shands Cancer Center from Interstate 75, take Exit 384 (old Exit 75), the Archer Road (State Road 24) exit. Turn toward Gainesville (east) on Archer Road. The Cancer Center is about 3 miles from the I-75 exit at the intersection of Archer Road and Gale Lamerand Drive (on the northwest corner). Get into the left turn lane at the traffic light and turn onto Gale Lamerand Drive, which is part of the University of Florida campus.
From US Highway 441: If you are traveling on US Highway 441, turn west onto Archer Road (State Road 24). [From the south, turn left from left turn lane; from the north, follow curve to the right as road divides at this intersection.] The Cancer Center is about a half mile from the intersection of Archer Road and Highway 441. Turn right onto Gale Lamerand Drive; there is a traffic light with a short-cut right turn lane. [This is the fourth traffic light after you turn onto Archer Road.]
On Gale Lamerand Drive: The University of Florida Shands Cancer Center is part of the Shands Medical Plaza. From North-South Drive, turn right (east) onto the driveway to Shands Medical Plaza and the Cancer Center.
