About Us

The College of Medicine, Research Administration and Compliance (RAC) is a service-oriented department offering assistance to faculty and staff in the College of Medicine regarding research-related matters.

As part of the College of Medicine's research administration and compliance, RAC reviews and approves grant proposals to ensure compliance with University of Florida, UF Research Foundation, Health Science Center, College of Medicine, and sponsor agency rules and regulations. 

In effort to improve research compliance within the University of Florida, College of Medicine, RAC coordinates activities related to the investigation of Clinical Trials, Conflict of Interest and Outside Activities, and inquiries regarding Scientific Misconduct.  RAC is also responsible for monitoring, and conducting periodic compliance audits and reviews for reporting concerns such as, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Allocation of Research Space.

RAC staff members are always available to assist faculty with budget development, to procure application materials, to facilitate award nominations; and to train and answer questions regarding university or agency policies and dealing grant and contract applications

Office hours for RAC are normally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Office is normally open throughout lunch to accommodate busy faculty members, except for unusual circumstances.

In order to better assist you, we ask that proposals be brought to us no later than two working days before the deadline (receipt) date. If we can be of assistance, please call us at 273-5398 or visit the office in Room M-134 in the Health Science Center.

RESEARCH 900a-1100a Rm. 1450 1329 Bldg.   Health Science Center Research Administrator Roundtable This is a monthly discussion session facilitated by the College of Medicine Research Administration and Compliance (RAC) office. The sessions are intended to allow research administrators within the College of Medicine and Health Science Center colleges to come together to discuss issues related to research administration at the University of Florida. The roundtable sessions are open to any person within the Health Science Center responsible for and/or some way involved in pre-award and/or post-award research function. RESEARCH NCURA's Fundamentals of Sponsored Project Administration Workshop To be held June 18-20, 2008 in Kimmel Center at New York University (NYC, NY). Details and registration. Please note that this program will have limited enrollment, so register today.  
RESEARCH UIC - NIH Regional Seminar To be held in Chicago, Illinois from June 19-20, 2008. This two day seminar will be hosted by the University of Illinois at Chicago. NIH electronic research administration computer labs will be offered on Tuesday, June 18, 2008.
