1) Notice: NIH Training for Human Subjects Although, NIH requires only the institute to sign for Human Subjects Training, the Office of Research and Graduate Programs (RGP) will require the PI to continue signing the letter indicating the training of all Key Personnel has been completed. 2) Announcement Regarding November 1, 2001 Deadline. DSR will be helping out the Health Science Center for the upcoming November 1 deadline. This service will provide proposal processing services to faculty and staff of the Health Science Center as well as Authorized Institutional Signature. As a reminder, proposals still have to obtain signature at Department and College level before receiving this service. It is requested that a file copy be provided for DSR at the time the proposal is received for rocessing.Reminder, overnight courier service will not be provided by DSR for these proposals.

1) The American Geriatrics Society is accepting applications for the Jahnigen Career Development Scholars Awards. The award will provide 2-year grants of $200,000 to junior faculty in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, physical medicine & rehabilitation, thoracic surgery, and urology. Only one application from each department will be accepted. Contact ORA by 12/21/01 to apply.
