2)NIGMS
FY 2002 Financial Management Strategy for Extramural Research:To
manage its future-year commitments more effectively, NIGMS will apply “commitment
management” to some of its competing R01 awards beginning in FY 2002.For
more information, go to Commitment
Management Notice and Commitment
Management FAQ.(Posted 04/26/2002)
3)NRSA
Training Grants:In
completing an Institutional NRSA budget, visit our NRSA grant hints web
site at http://www.med.ufl.edu/research/nrsahints.html.
If
you indicate the mentors (preceptors) as key personnel on your training
grant proposal, you will need to include the Financial Conflict of Interest
forms on all listed. It is not a
requirement that the mentors are considered key personnel. Also,
when completing the table for the list of mentors, the college would suggest
not showing % effort, instead show the time committed at the end of the
year on the effort report as part of the faculties teaching effort.
In calculating the health insurance for the pre-doc and post-docs we have included an averaged premium rate, this is not required if the trainees have a policy they prefer.Since you can request family health insurance for post-docs, be sure to include enough funds to cover a private insurance policy.Pre and post-docs are not covered under the State of Florida insurance policy. The below chart indicates an average rate (rates are dependent on the age of the pre and post-doc and the number of children the post-doc intends to cover) to include for out of pocket health insurance coverage.http://www.med.ufl.edu/research/fb-ins.html#healthnrsatraininggrant
