WHAT’S NEW

UF researchers discover blood stem cellscan make new blood vessels in mice

DSR Proposal Processing Services Proposal processing services will be provided on site at the UF Health Science Center by DSR for the July 1 NIH deadline.DSR staff will be available in Room R1-106 (Hugh Hill Conference Room) on the following days and times:

Thursday, June 27 – 1:00-4:30 p.m

Friday, June 28 – 1:00-4:30 p.m.

Complete proposal review service will be provided, including the authorized institutional signature. Please bring the original proposal plus one (1) complete copy for DSR records. Without this record copy, the authorized signature may not be provided on site. Proposals will be released back to the Principal Investigator or his/her representative for mailing.

The central Proposal Processing Office, 2nd Floor Grinter Hall, will be staffed and open for business as usual -- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. -- on these days.Questions may be directed to the Proposal Processing Office at 392-9267.

The American Heart Association Research Committeehas recently modified documentation requirements for the Established Investigator Award.This is effective immediately.Please note that all applicants will be required to submit institutional committee approvals by September 20 for the following items checked Yes under Project Endorsements (Administrative Information form page) on the AHA application:

*Recombinant DNA (1 copy of appropriate committee approval)

*Biohazards (other than recombinant DNA) (1 copy of appropriate committee approval)

*Cloning (3 copies of appropriate committee approval)

*Animal subjects (1 copy of appropriate committee approval)

Originally the EIA Instructions stated (page 18, item 27): "Due to the emphasis on an innovative, conceptual proposal for this Established Investigator Award, the AHA will require just-in-time Institutional Committee approvals for all usage.Check the appropriate blanks related to anticipated experimentation."The Committee has rescinded this portion of the Instructions and documentation requirements.For additional information http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3001361
