DON'T FORGET
1.
Reminder: NIH Opens Website with Non-Competing Grant Progress Report Due
Date Information
RGP reminds faculty that the NIH Office of Extramural Research no longer mails preprinted non-competing applications to Grantee institutions. Information on due dates for Non-competing Grant Progress Reports is available to Principal Investigators from the NIH in two ways:
- The NIH Office of Extramural Research has established a website
of Non-competing Progress Report due date information: http://era.nih.gov/userreports/pr_due.cfm.
Principal Investigators and Administrators can query using the Institutional
Profile Number (IPF) to return a list of progress reports that are "due."
If you are not certain of the IPF, a companion query is also available at
the site to help determine the appropriate IPF. Several months of "due"
information will be in the query at all times and records will drop off of
the list as NIH receives the progress reports. New records will be added on/around
the 30th of each month.
- The second way, as discussed in the May 3, 2002, NIH GUIDE
(NOT-OD-02-066), Principal Investigators may register with the NIH Commons,
where an account can be established and when available receive e-mail reminders
of non-competing progress reports due dates with links to
pre-populated face pages. When this option becomes fully available, details
will be published in the NIH GUIDE. Contact the DSR Proposal Processing Office,
2-9267 or ufproposals@rgp.ufl.edu, to register with NIH Commons.

2. CLINICAL RESEARCH CURRICULUM (K30) AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT
The
National Institutes of Health is extending for one year the Clinical Research
Curriculum (K30) Awards that were originally made in 1999. These awards, which
were due to terminate in June, 2003, will be extended at the same level of
funding as currently exists. As a result of this extension, the K30 awards
made in 1999 will end in the summer, 2004, approximately the same time
that the K30 awards made in 2000 are scheduled to end.
Next
year, NIH plans to solicit competitive applications for the K30 award, which
will be scheduled to begin in the summer, 2004. All domestic, non-Federal
institutions with clinical research programs will be eligible to apply. That
is, those who currently have a K30 award (those institutions that originally
received an award in 1999 and those that originally received an award in 2000),
and those that do not have an award may apply.
Questions concerning this announcement should be addressed to Lawrence Friedman, M.D. at lawrence_friedman@nih.gov.
