Stipends

Fringe benefits (with the exception of Health Insurance) are not assessed to Training Grants. After completing the statement of appointment, e-mail Contracts & Grants with:

Contracts & Grants will not release the original allotment until all Statement of Appointments have been completed.

Tuition, & Fees

Request the full amount for tuition on the proposal. NIH will prorate the award according the the NRSA policy guidelines. Tuition is budgeted at the acutal in-state new student rate.

Fees should be requested for Pre-Docs for 32 credit hours and for Postdocs for the courses associated with the training. 

Note: Do not escalate the future year's budget. 

 

Health Insurance

The annual Health Insurance rate for Pre-doctoral Associates is $1570/year.  The Healh Insurance is now included in the Training Related Expenses and is no longer excluded from the F&A caculation.

Training Related Expenses

Training Related Expenses
The funds may be requested to defray the costs of other research training related expenses, such as staff salaries, consultant costs, equipment, research supplies, and travel expenses for the training faculty. Training related expenses may be adjusted in future fiscal years.
